We are seeking a HR Business Partner to be based out of our Chicago, IL location.




    Adello Biologics is looking for a strategic business partner to support Adello Biologics manufacturing operations site in Chicago, Illinois.  The HR Business Partner will build relationships with senior leadership on the site to lead the delivery of HR services and programs. The HR Business Partner will consult and deliver solutions on talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits and compensation, training and development.  The HR Business Partner should proactively address organizational issues together with leadership and make recommendations and implement solutions to attract, develop and retain talent. 


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform HR Business Partner duties for manufacturing operations teams including (manufacturing, engineering and quality groups) performing complex investigation, handling non-routine employee issues, and advising management.
    • Advise business operations leadership and/or partners in the utilization and implementation of HR programs.
    • Investigate complex employee complaints in partnership with the legal department and recommend solutions to resolve complaint.
    • Advise and coach leadership on a variety of business issues that impact talent and/or business operations.
    • Assess complex HR issues that require considerable judgment and risk management
    • Partners with business and talent acquisition team to ensure talent needs are met.
    • Lead special projects (e.g. RIF, training development initiatives, process improvement projects).
    • Delivers orientation, onboarding, exit and training programs.
    • Ensures compliance and manage regulatory concerns and reporting.
    • Contributes to policy development and documentation.
    • Counsels supervisors and managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
    • Delivers the training of performance management tool; coordinates all aspects of the performance management system and process, providing guidance to managers and employees on effective utilization of the process.
    • Performs benefit administration.
    • Manages disability, FMLA communications and tracking.
    • Supports payroll processes.
    • Prepares all federal and state reporting as well as respective unemployment claims.
    • Partners with external immigration counsel to file work visas as it pertains to employee sponsorships.
    • Administers policies and supports in update of employee handbook and other policies.
    • Maintains, reports, evaluates and translates metrics on headcount, turnover, absenteeism and other HR metrics and provides recommendations to improve.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefit laws and regulations.






    • Bachelor’s degree.



    • 8+ years of human resource experience.
    • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
    • Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 5 years related experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment of change and competing priorities with 7-10 years of overall HR experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience in Manufacturing/Operations environment preferred.
    • PHR/SPHR or SHRM- CP/ SHRM-SCP certification highly desirable.



    • Extensive knowledge and understanding of HR functional areas including: Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Immigration, Talent Development
    • Extensive knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state employment laws and compliance implications.
    • Must desire a high level of autonomy to manage multiple ongoing issues and complex employee relations matters with minimum supervision and with excellent execution.
    • Proven success leading change, leading project schedules and managing projects.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation and facilitation skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including consultative and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
    • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability for negotiation and influencing change and facilitate conflict resolution.
    • Ability to manage internal and external confidential information with utmost discretion, strict attention to detail and ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
    • Must be able to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships, interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between groups.
    • Substantial problem-solving, risk assessment, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to determine next course of action.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, ADP and working knowledge of HRIS systems.

    • Must be able to work in an open office environment with moderate noise levels and frequent interruptions.
    • Must be able to hear and speak clearly enough to participate in highly interactive, fast paced conversations.
